In October 2016, Sunyield Technology launched the vehicle radiation performance test scheme and the automotive radar antenna reliability test program. On November 6, 2018, at the 16th meeting of wireless communication technology WG11 of China Communications Standards Association (CCSA), we participated in the project discussion and review of the “Technical Requirements and Test Methods for Vehicle Communication Antennas (Discussion Draft), 201*-0232T-YD” industry standard. This is a historic effort that marks the final stage of standardizing vehicle-wide antenna measurements. The discussion paper, which will enter the publication phase in October 2023, will establish clear guidelines for vehicle-wide antenna measurements.
With the release of this standard, vehicle antenna measurement will move towards a standardized process, providing clear guidelines for vehicle-level antenna testing and helping the development of vehicle communication antennas.
The standard specifies the requirements for vehicle-level antenna measurement sites, including measurement sites for measuring the overall performance of vehicle antennas after loading. Due to the large size of the vehicle, the space requirements for the test environment are also relatively large. Therefore, both outdoor open field measurements and indoor measurements are listed as optional. Whether indoors or outdoors, Sunyield Technologies has the experience to provide customers with high-quality vehicle-grade antenna measurement solutions.
Vehicle spherical near-field measurement system
The site for vehicle-level antenna testing should be an open free space environment or an anechoic chamber environment that can be compared with an open free space environment. Due to the fast test speed and comprehensive measurement data, the spherical near-field measurement system is the first choice for vehicle-level antenna testing.
The vehicle spherical near-field measurement system is divided into “single-probe vehicle spherical near-field test system” and “multi-probe vehicle spherical near-field test system”, the advantage of single-probe vehicle spherical near-field test system is that the test frequency band range is wide, and the full frequency band test range can be covered by replacing the test probe; The advantage of multi-probe vehicle spherical near-field test system is that the test speed is fast, especially the use of Sunyield technology using patented technology “a multi-probe and single-probe comprehensive test system and test method”, which further expands the frequency range, and can fully cover the test frequency band specified in the industry standard of “Technical Requirements and Test Methods for Vehicle Communication Antennas”.
Vehicle far-field and tight-field antenna measurement system
The vehicle far-field measurement system is the site for vehicle-level antenna testing, which should be an open free space environment or an anechoic chamber environment that can be compared with the open free space environment. In general, limited by the size of the reflective surface and rotational limitations, the compact range is only used for measuring the performance of the antenna unit. In particular, compact range can also be used to measure the performance of vehicle-wide antennas required only for 2D gain and pattern.
Sunyield Technology has been specializing in turnkey solutions for antenna measurement systems for many years, and has built a number of far-field and compact range measurement systems, providing customers with customized vehicle antenna measurement system solutions.
Sunyield Technology has superior shrink field performance and fully complies with the requirements specified in the “Technical Requirements and Test Methods for Automotive Communication Antennas” industry standard, and can also be optimized and upgraded according to customer needs.
Sunyield Technology is committed to promoting the vehicle-level antenna testing industry towards standardization and providing strong support for the development of automotive communication antennas. By providing a range of vehicle antenna measurement systems in spherical, far-field, and contraction-field fields, Sunyield Technology will continue to focus on meeting the growing needs of customers and promoting innovation and development in in-vehicle communication technologies.
